I have experience working as a supportive roommate, respite provider, community rehabilitation worker, community support worker, with New Age Services and Calgary Progressive Lifestyles Foundation. My responsibilities have included providing supports eg. development and implementation of programs to meet the needs and goals of the clients, meal preparation, administer medications, shopping, cleaning and laundry. Identify issues and advocate for clients. Attending medical appointments, banking and budgeting, paying bills. Developed trusting relationship with clients, community support, promoted family, friends, and significant other relationships
I have completed a Communication and Culture degree at the University of Calgary with a minor in Psychology which has broadened my knowledge, exposure and expertise in disability services and social works and related fields. I am a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) student at University of Calgary. Also, my extensive experience working with people with disabilities will help me provide the required needs the clients as a Supportive Roommate.
